FAIMER celebrated 20 years of service to world medical education and research with a successful three-day 20th Anniversary Virtual Conference October 20-22. More than 580 attendees from 51 countries around the world joined the celebration.

With the theme Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, the conference reflected on FAIMER’s beginnings in 2000, celebrated the organization’s global growth and development to where it is now, and unveiled the programs and initiatives that will lead the path to FAIMER’s future.
Renowned physician and best-selling author Dr. Abraham Verghese, an international medical graduate who is a professor of medicine at Stanford University, delivered an inspiring keynote speech relating the important work of conference participants to the heroic characters of the world of literature.
Programming also included a presentation from physician and author Dr. Shantanu Nundy, video contributions from each of the FAIMER Regional Institutes, remarks from past and future members of FAIMER Leadership, and celebrations of cultures from around the world.
