International Opportunities in Medical Education

FAIMER, AAMC, GHEC logos

FAIMER, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), and the Global Health Education Consortium (GHEC, formerly the International Health Medical Education Consortium) have joined together to collect information about international activities at U.S. allopathic medical schools. Within the context of globalization and its impact, as student and faculty interests increase, it is important to have a better understanding of the variety and scope of international educational opportunities.

The purpose of this electronic resource is to make available information about the extent and nature of international opportunities for medical students, residents, and faculty. It provides information about which schools offer programs, how these are funded, and in which geographical regions they occur. In many cases, individual schools provide further information about their programs on their own websites.

We will update this data resource as information becomes available and, over time, anticipate developing an increasingly comprehensive resource that details more and more of the myriad programs and opportunities available.
