Independent Entity
The aim of the Accreditation Committee of Polish University Medical Schools (ACPUMS) is:
- to define conditions necessary to conduct undergraduate studies in university medical schools;
- to define accreditation standards for the following fields of study: medical, medical-dentistry, pharmacy, and others related to health care recommended by the Conference of Presidents of Polish University Medical Schools;
- to provide a continuous assessment of the quality of teaching in the following fields: medical, medical-dentistry, pharmacy, as well as others, if requested by Presidents of University Medical Schools interested in such evaluation.
ACPUMS carried out assessment of undergraduate education taking into account its program, organization, qualification of the teaching staff, and its number, as required by specific regulations, teaching facilities, and internal control of the quality of teaching.

Description of accreditation organization
The State Accreditation Committee is an independent institution working within the higher education system in Poland for the improvement in the quality of education. The primary objective of the Committee is to support Polish public and non-public higher education institutions in the development of educational standards matching the best models adopted in the European and global academic space. These activities aim to ensure that graduates of Polish higher education institutions rank high on the national and international labour market, and to enhance the competitiveness of Polish higher education institutions as European institutions.
