Accreditation standards

Iraqi National standards which have been modified from Arabian gulf cooperation council and also based on the WHO and WFME recent recommendations on standards for basic medical colleges.

Evaluation process

Self assessment study, peer review visit (optional), external site visit by the national assessors and supervised by NCAMC, and final decision made by NCAMC.

Description of accreditation organization

NCAMC is partially independent body; it operates for the time being under the supervision of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) / The Apparatus for Supervision and Scientific Evaluation. It is composed of 14 members in addition to the advisory board from WFME, WHO, and other international figures. The main task and duty is to enhance programs and colleges’ development, and to provide assurance to the community, students, and faculty.
