Mary Beth Scallen, M.F.A.
Mary Elizabeth Scallen (also known as MB) is a stage actor and arts educator. Since 1991, she has been a member of the ensemble of resident artists at People's Light & Theatre, a professional regional theater outside of Philadelphia, where she has performed in more than 70 productions. She has also worked with a number of other theaters along the East Coast of the United States. Ms. Scallen has taught at Temple University and West Chester University and is currently an adjunct faculty member in the Theatre Arts Department at the University of Pennsylvania. At her home theater, she has taught a wide variety of courses including Audition Techniques, Shakespearean Text Analysis, and Scene Study for Advanced Students, and has coached private students in public speaking and communication techniques. She lives in South Philadelphia in a tiny row home that is in constant need of repair.
