Janet Grant, B.A., M.Sc., Ph.D.
Dr. Grant is an educational psychologist, Professor of Education in Medicine at the Open University Institute of Educational Technology and Director of the Centre for Education in Medicine. Her PhD is on medical diagnostic thinking.
Dr. Grant is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society and an honorary member of the National Association of Clinical Tutors. She is also an honorary Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
Dr. Grant was lecturer in medical education at King's College Hospital Medical School. She then became assistant director of a WHO Collaborating Centre for Medical Education and has worked in a number of countries as an educational developer, evaluator and visiting professor in medical education.
Dr. Grant's main interests are in apprenticeship learning in postgraduate medicine, open and distance learning, educational evaluation, the management of change in medicine, and continuing professional development. Methods of integrating training and service underpin most of her work.
