The residential session of the FAIMER Institute, which takes place in Philadelphia each year, will be moving from October to March—effective with the next incoming class of Fellows, who will attend the residential session in March 2017. The decision to move the Institute was made based on careful consideration of feedback from Fellows and a need to better align the schedule with the FAIMER-Keele Certificate in Health Professions Education: Accreditation and Assessment program, which is now a part of the Institute curriculum. Holding the residential session in March will allow FAIMER to better coordinate Fellows’ involvement in the FAIMER-Keele program with the other components of the Institute.
The FAIMER Institute has experienced considerable growth over the past 15 years and, as it has evolved, certain modifications have been necessary to ensure that the Institute remains as positive and valuable an experience as possible for our Fellows. The move to March is consistent with the goal of continuous quality improvement of our teaching and learning.
