FAIMER Attends IAMRA’s 12th International Conference on Medical Regulation

The International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities’ (IAMRA) 12th International Conference on Medical Regulation was held September 20-23, 2016, in Melbourne, Australia. This biennial conference, hosted this year by the Medical Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), brought together participants from around the world to discuss topics ranging from the education of future health professionals to the quality assurance of licensed/registered practitioners.

FAIMER staff participated in the conference, sharing information based on FAIMER Research and Data Resources projects. In a panel on Transparency and Quality Assurance, Jack Boulet presented “Licensure, Specialty Certification, Revalidation and Accreditation: What is their Value?” In a panel addressing The Challenges of Medical Mobility, Amy Opalek presented “The Challenges of Building a Data Model for the World’s Medical Schools,” a discussion of information management challenges of building and maintaining the World Directory of Medical Schools.

The next IAMRA International Conference on Medical Regulation is scheduled for 2018 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
