FAIMER’s Senior Director of Program Evaluation, Ming-Jung Ho, Awarded ABIM Foundation John A. Benson Jr., MD Professionalism Article Prize

Ming-Jung HoThe ABIM Foundation has awarded Ming-Jung Ho, PhD, Senior Director of Program Evaluation of FAIMER®, a division of Intealth®, and her co-authors a 2025 John A. Benson Jr., MD Professionalism Article Prize.

The authors are recognized for “When Personal Identity Meets Professional Identity: A Qualitative Study of Professional Identity Formation of International Medical Graduate Resident Physicians in the United States,” published in the January 2025 special issue of International Medical Education, “Health Professions Education Advancements and Innovations—International Perspectives.” The study examines the professional identity formation (PIF) of international medical graduate (IMG) resident physicians and highlights “the identity tension experienced by IMGs in their PIF journey and the different strategies they employed to navigate the conflicts with American professional norms.”

The national prize honors outstanding, evidence-based scholarship in medical professionalism. This award-winning research directly supports Intealth’s mission to advance a strong and equitable global health workforce by providing data-driven insights that inform policy, program design, and evaluation related to internationally educated physicians.
