Vivek Saoji, M.B.B.S., M.S., and Rashmi Vyas, M.B.B.S., M.D., attended a summer session at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in May. Drs. Saoji and Vyas are pursuing Master\u2019s in Health Professions Education degrees at UIC through FAIMER\u2019s International Fellowship in Medical Education (IFME) program<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The IFME program has been redesigned to enable selected graduates of the FAIMER Institute<\/a> to pursue advanced degrees in health professions education at institutions that have distance learning programs with a minimal residential requirement. This alignment of the Institute and IFME programs creates a pathway for educational leadership in international health professions education. Drs. Saoji and Vyas are the first Fellows of the redesigned IFME program to complete a residential session for their Master\u2019s program.<\/p>\n

Dr. Saoji is a Professor, Department of Surgery, and Dean of Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College<\/a> in India. Dr. Vyas is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physiology at Christian Medical College<\/a>, Vellore, in India. Both are members of the 2003 class of the FAIMER Institute.<\/p>\n
