This biennial conference, hosted this year by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.medicalboard.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Medical Board of Australia<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ahpra.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\">Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)<\/a>, brought together participants from around the world to discuss topics ranging from the education of future health professionals to the quality assurance of licensed\/registered practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>FAIMER staff participated in the conference, sharing information based on FAIMER Research and Data Resources projects. In a panel on <em>Transparency and Quality Assurance<\/em>, Jack Boulet presented \u201cLicensure, Specialty Certification, Revalidation and Accreditation: What is their Value?\u201d In a panel addressing <em>The Challenges of Medical Mobility<\/em>, Amy Opalek presented \u201cThe Challenges of Building a Data Model for the World\u2019s Medical Schools,\u201d a discussion of information management challenges of building and maintaining the <em>World Directory of Medical Schools<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The next IAMRA International Conference on Medical Regulation is scheduled for 2018 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The International Association of Medical Regulatory Authorities\u2019 (IAMRA) 12th International Conference on Medical Regulation was held September 20-23, 2016, in Melbourne, Australia.
