This annual conference brings researchers, educators, and policymakers together to meet and discuss state and federal health workforce issues. The theme of this year\u2019s conference was <em>Working Together for Health: Aligning the Health Workforce with Population Needs<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Several members of the FAIMER Research staff took part in the conference, sharing information based on FAIMER Research and Data Resources projects. Danette McKinley, Director of Research and Data Resources, gave a presentation titled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faimer.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Primary-Care-Physicians-and-Vulnerable-Populations-A-Cross-Sectional-Analysis.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Primary Care Physicians and Vulnerable Populations: A Cross-Sectional Analysis<\/a><\/em>\u00a0co-authored by Julie Drendall, as part of a plenary session on <em>Provider Types, Populations Served, and Outcomes Achieved<\/em>. Research Scientist Amy Opalek participated in a breakout session on <em>Aging and a Diverse Population\u2014Implications for Health Workforce<\/em> with a presentation titled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faimer.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Who-Cares-for-Pennsylvania\u2019s-Diverse-Patient-Populations-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Who Cares for Pennsylvania\u2019s Diverse Patient Populations?<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>Ms. Opalek and Research Associate Sarah Leng also presented a poster titled <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.faimer.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/International-Medical-Graduates\u2019-Contributions-to-the-United-States-Health-Workforce.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Medical Graduates\u2019 Contributions to the United States Health Workforce<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 13th\u00a0Annual Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Health Workforce Research Conference was held May 3-5, 2017, in Arlington, Virginia.
