Henal Shah, M.B.B.S., M.D.
Dr. Henal Shah received her M.B.B.S. degree from TN Medical College and her Master’s in Psychiatry from GS Medical College & KEM Hospital. Following this, she worked in the child psychiatry department of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children at Glasgow. She is a 2008 FAIMER Institute Fellow and holds a Master’s in Medical Education from the University of Maastricht, Netherlands.
Dr. Shah’s current designation is a Professor (Additional) in the department of Psychiatry at the Topiwala National Medical College & BYL Nair Charitable Hospital, Mumbai, India, where she is also in charge of a learning disability clinic. She serves as faculty for the GSMC-FAIMER Regional Institute in Mumbai, and for the M.Sc. (Health Professional Education) program run by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences. She is keenly interested in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and has presented and published in this field. During Dr. Shah’s tenure as the President of the Bombay Psychiatric Society, work was done in the field of child and adolescent suicide in the form of creating awareness and channels of communication.
