Longjian Liu, M.D., Ph.D., M.Sc. (LSHTM)
Dr. Longjian Liu is an associate tenured professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health, and an adjunct professor of Medicine at Drexel College of Medicine. He teaches and serves as an academic adviser for M.P.H. and Ph.D. students, as well as M.D./M.P.H. fellows. Dr. Liu’s research activities include three themes: (1) Epidemiological studies of cardiovascular disease and diabetes mellitus, using data from electronic medical records, regional, national, and international studies. (2) Big data analytics technology for pharmacoepidemiological and health outcomes studies. (3) Global health, focusing on cross-country comparisons of environmental risks and health policy for population and urban health studies. He is a Fellow of the American Heart Association and a Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Dr. Liu serves as Co-Chair of the Cardiovascular and Diabetes Research Interest Group of the American Public Health Association-Epidemiology Section. He has had more than 70 articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals and textbooks.
