Core Faculty
Rashmi Vyas, M.B.B.S., M.D., M.H.P.E.
Rashmi Vyas works as Professor in the Department of Physiology at Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, India. She also holds the post of Core Educator in the Medical Education Unit. She likes to teach and is interested in health professions education.
As a 2005 International Fellowship in Medical Education (IFME) Fellow, Dr. Vyas recently earned a Master’s Degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a 2003 FAIMER Institute Fellow. Her main areas of interest are curriculum innovation, program evaluation, and faculty development.
Dr. Vyas is currently coordinating an Integrated Learning Program in Basic Medical Sciences for first-year M.B.B.S. students at CMC, Vellore. She is also Secretary of the Medical Education Unit and Coordinator of the Medical Education Technology workshops at her institution. She is course co-organizer for the Fellowship in Secondary Hospital Medicine, a distance-learning program for M.B.B.S. graduates working in secondary hospitals run by CMC, Vellore.
In addition to the FAIMER Institute, Dr. Vyas serves as a faculty member for the CMCL-, GSMC-, and PSG-FAIMER Regional Institutes. She has also served as an invited faculty member for advanced workshops in health professions education at various medical colleges, including the Department of Medical Education, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences.
When not working, Dr. Vyas enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
