Tejinder Singh, M.D., D.N.B., F.I.A.P., Masters Distance Education, M.Sc. (Health Professions Education), P.G. Dip. (Higher Education)
Dr. Tejinder Singh is Convener, Medical Council of India (MCI) Nodal Center for Faculty Development, Professor of Pediatrics, Vice Principal, and Director of the CMCL-FAIMER Regional Institute at Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, India. He is Chairman of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics Education Centre and Program In-Charge, P.G. Diploma Maternal and Child Health, Indira Gandhi National Open University. Dr. Singh has been actively involved in medical education as a founder/coordinator of the Medical Education Cell at his school. In addition, he has been a faculty member for more than 35 medical teacher training workshops at local, regional, and national levels. Dr. Singh has been on the various academic bodies of Christian Medical College, including the Board of Studies, Faculty of Medical Sciences, and the Senate, in addition to being the being the chairman of a committee for computer education of medical students.
Dr. Singh was awarded a Swedish Fellowship, and the self learning module he developed as part of the fellowship has been widely acclaimed as a prototype of distance learning in resource poor settings by national and international journals. This module has also been adopted by Stellenbosch University, as part of a master’s thesis, for conversion to African conditions.
Dr. Singh has received a number of gold medals and awards, including the Medical Education and Research Award of the Indian Medical Association. Dr. Singh earned his Master of Health Professions Education degree from Maastricht University in 2009 as a Fellow in FAIMER’s International Fellowship in Medical Education (IFME) program.
