Francois Cilliers, M.B.,Ch.B., M.Phil.(Higher Education), Ph.D.
Francois Cilliers is an Associate Professor in the Education Development Unit at the University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Health Sciences in South Africa. His interests include the learning effects of assessment, faculty development, and helping faculty undertake meaningful educational research. Francois taught physiology for almost a decade before moving to work primarily in educational development. He holds a Ph.D. in Health Professions Education from the University of Maastricht. Also medically qualified, he has worked in the field of HIV since 1992.
Francois is a 2004 FAIMER Institute Fellow and a faculty member of the Southern Africa-FAIMER Regional Institute (SAFRI). He teaches on the M.Phil.(Health Professions Education) at Stellenbosch University. He is involved in the South African Association of Health Educationalists (SAAHE) and originated what has become the annual conference of the organisation.
