Donna Weiss, Ph.D.
Donna Weiss, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, earned a B.S. and M.A. in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University and New York University and a Ph.D. in Psychoeducational Processes from Temple University. She is a licensed occupational therapist, a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association, and is certified by The Leading Clinic as a coach/consultant in Appreciative Inquiry and Whole System IQ™.
Dr. Weiss is associate professor emeritus at the College of Health Professions and Social Work at Temple University, where she served as a faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs. She taught classes in pediatric intervention, group dynamics, leadership, clinical education and fieldwork supervision and outcomes measurement and administered curriculum development, admission and enrollment, teaching/learning evaluations, student relations and faculty development initiatives.
She is the lead editor of A Practitioner’s Guide to Clinical Occupational Therapy, 2nd Edition (2012) published by Pro-Ed and The Interprofessional Health Care Team: Leadership and Development (2013) published by Jones & Bartlett Learning.
Dr. Weiss is a consultant in the areas of interpersonal communication, group dynamics, and leadership. She believes that positive communication can engage imaginations, broaden possibilities, and empower action for personal, professional, and organizational sustainability and growth.
