Education Centers
FAIMER Education Centers are health professions colleges and universities that receive ongoing mentoring and consultation from FAIMER staff. This support aims to enhance faculty development within the school to:
- Improve the quality of teaching
- Align education and health care practice
- Create long-term institutional and regional change
The program targets schools with strong ties to FAIMER. Institutions with at least four faculty members who have completed a FAIMER Institute or Regional Institute fellowship are eligible to become FAIMER Education Centers. The values, goals, and methods for faculty development at the school must be aligned with FAIMER’s. FAIMER evaluates the school’s faculty development curriculum and workshop design, as well as its methods for evaluating the quality of faculty development workshops and actual evaluation data.
FAIMER Education Centers are designed to support and complement FAIMER’s regional efforts to advance faculty development, in particular the Regional Institutes, with whom they will already have a connection through Regional Institute Fellows.
FAIMER has designated Pramukhswami Medical College in Karamsad, India, as its first Education Center.
Colleges or universities interested in becoming a FAIMER Education Center should send an e-mail to education@faimer.org.
